GENERAL INFORMATION ADMISSION TO AIL – 2010
 
  AVAILABILITY OF SEATS

For the B.A,LL.B. 5 years course commencing in July 2010, 80 seats are available in the following categories:-
   
 
(a) Wards of Army Personnel 64
(b) Residents of Punjab 12
(c) All India General Category 04
  Total 80
   
  ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for admission to AIL is given in detail in the prospectus of the Institute. Eligibility criteria in brief is given below:-
   
 
(a) Candidate should have passed or appeared in 10+2 exam with 45% Marks at the time of applying for admission to AIL.
(b)
Candidate should not have completed the age of 21 years on 1st Jul 2010
(c)
Category certificate is required to be submitted while applying for admission to AIL
   
  ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Admission to the BA LL.B 5 years course at AIL is made on the basis of the rank obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET Law), Punjab. All the applicants who wish to join AIL are, therefore, required to appear in CET Law, Punjab (2010) which will be conducted by a university to be notified for the purpose by the Government of Punjab [hereinafter referred to as “conducting university”]

The following are the proposed examination centres. The finalization of the list of examination centres is subject to the approval of the conducting university:-

1. Abohar
2. Amritsar
3. Bathinda
4. Chandigarh
5. Jalandhar
6. Ludhiana
7. Mohali
8. Muktsar
9. Pathankot
10. Patiala
11.Sangrur

The following have been proposed to be the examination centres for Army Institute of Law’s Wards of Army Personnel Category and 15% All India General Category Seats (other States / UTs). The following centres too are subject to approval of the conducting university:-

1. Ambala Cantt.
2. Bangalore
3.Delhi
4. Jaipur
5. Kolkata
6. Lucknow
7. Pune
8. Secundrabad
9. Dehradun
Exact venue of examination will be intimated to the individual candidates by the university to be notified for the purpose of conducting CET Law - 2010 by the Government of Punjab
 
 
APPLICATION FORM

The applicants are required to apply to the conducting university as well as to AIL on the prescribed formats

Candidates shall apply for CET Law – 2010 on the prescribed form (which shall be available on counter of AIL whenever it is released by the conducting university) to the conducting university. The last date of submission of form for CET Law – 2010 shall be decided by the conducting university

All the applicants shall also fill the Application-cum-Admission form of AIL to be eligible for admission to the Institute. It is expected to be available by 3rd week of March 2010.

Once released, the Prospectus and Application forms of Institute/conducting university and Admission Forms can be obtained by hand or by post from AIL and office of HQ Western Command (AWES) and HQs Command AWES, Integrated HQs of MoD (Army),Building No. 202, Shankar Vihar, Delhi Cantt-10, New Delhi . The prospectus can also downloaded from AIL website (www.armyinstituteoflaw.org). The prospectus can be purchased in cash on college counter or by sending a Demand Draft in favour Army Institute of Law payable at Mohali, Chandigarh. The cost of the prospectus and application form is as follows

Rs 600/- (through Bank Demand Draft)

Form should be accompanied by a Demand draft of 650/- drawn in favour Army Institute of Law payable at Mohali
